The Lion's Mane Jellyfish's scientific name is: Cyanea Capillata. This creature had become famous in Sherlock Holme's "The Adventure of the Lion's Mane" as a deadly jellyfish. When stung, you will die. However, when you're stung by this jellyfish, all you get is an itchy rash with a mild burning jolt through your body. They are usually found in harsh weather conditions and freezing areas of the Atlantic ocean and Northern Pacific Ocean during the coldest months. They are rather daring and interesting. They are never found at the Southern hemisphere. The Lion's Mane is the largest jellyfish int the world. The largest Lion's Mane jellyfish washed up on shore of the Massachusetts Bay in 1870. Which had a 2.3 meters in diameter. It was 7ft and 6 inches tall.

The family this jellyfish belongs to is: Cyaneidae. They are mostly found in Japanese waters. They usually feed on zooplankton, small fishes and moon jellyfishes.

The Mushroom Jellyfish is very similar to the Cannonball Jellyfish. It's scientific name is: Rhopilema Verrilli. They have no tentacles but only oral arms. They are usually not brown or purple, which distinguishes themselves from the cannonball jellyfish. These jellyfish are softer and flatter compared to the cannonballs. They are relatively larger than them too by 2-4 inches. They are usually 10-12 inches in diameter but can grow up to at least 38 inches in diameter.. They tend to be much less of a problem than cannonballs with fishermen. Though they are completely harmless to humans.

The color of this specie is typically bell white. They rarely inhabit a different color. This jellyfish belongs to the family: Rhizostomatidae.
